When you get the chance to shoot a bigger band at a bigger venue, you might as well shoot the support act too! I had heard good things about Detroit Social Club so I was looking forward to seeing them.
The rules for shooting support bands is the same as for the headliners: First 3 no flash! I don’t mind about not being able to use a flash, what I do mind is blinding backlight which makes it almost impossible for the camera to focus on anything and get any pictures without total washout and flare! I shot about 2 and a half songs and left the pit! Shame really because Detroit Social Club were really good.
